The hasp cannot be released until the last lock comes off — so the machine stays isolated while anyone is still working on it. This is the core device for group lockout, and it is what stops one person’s “all clear” from re-energising the plant on somebody else.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eChoose on three things\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eHow many people.\u003c\/strong\u003e Hasps here take from \u003cstrong\u003ethree to seven padlocks\u003c\/strong\u003e. Count the largest crew that will ever work the isolation, then allow one. For jobs bigger than that, use a \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/stations\"\u003egroup lock box\u003c\/a\u003e instead.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eJaw or shackle size.\u003c\/strong\u003e The jaw has to close around the isolation point — 25 mm and 38 mm jaws for standard hasps, up to 80 mm clearance on the large nylon hasp for switchgear. The correct choice for electrical work, and it will not corrode in washdown or chemical areas.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eSteel\u003c\/strong\u003e — the strongest jaw, for mechanical isolation, valves and gates.
